Shop around for some great ab equipment, and you’re going to make the whole process easier on yourself, but don’t kid yourself. If you don’t have the heart to keep going, you’re not going to get what you’re after. An ab cruncher will help you get better results faster, and it makes the process more fun, but…

But the key word there is “You”.

There are so many self help books that will tell you all about having a positive attitude, how to meditate, they talk about cosmic wishing and so on and so forth, but what it comes down to is one basic truth of life: If you want something, work for it. Whether it’s money, a new girlfriend/boyfriend, a better job, or a great body, you won’t get it until you put the work in. Watch your Diet

You don’t have to switch to salads and water, but cut back on the fats, sugars (but more importantly, sweeteners like corn syrup) and red meat. Eat enough protein, lots of fruits and vegetables, and make sure you’re getting your vitamins, or you won’t have the energy to stick with it.

Skip a Day

And don’t push yourself too hard at first. Stretch really well, do as many as you’re comfortable with on the first day, and then give it a break. If you work out every single day, you don’t give your muscles the time they need to heal. You can run or work on your arms or legs the next day, but don’t work the same muscles two days in a row.

Push It

Every time you work out, see how many more crunches you can squeeze in before you’ve had enough. Once you’ve been working out for a week or so, your body will be able to go longer each time. Once a month, two months, a year has gone by, you may be up in the triple digits. At that point, you can use your stomach as a cheese grater.

Keep At It

Now that you’ve got great abs, you want to keep them. They don’t stay there like magic, you have to keep up with your workout program or they’ll quickly disappear. So keep at it, keep pushing yourself, and don’t quit.
