No doubt that you would like to have that sexy six pack abs to add to your overall appearance, and this is also one thing that the majority of the people would have in their yearly’s resolution list. That said, you still do not see many people with that abs body running around the street, this is simply because achieving them requires more than just goals setting. Many would agree that getting six pack abs should be viewed as a challenge, and as such there are few things that must be overcome first to ensure of your success.

Here’s a list of challenges that one must take care of when embarking on a six pack abs journey:

Dieting for six pack abs

Somewhere behind the thick layer of stomach fats lies your abdominal muscle, whether developed or not. Strengthening these muscles will definitely make your abs more defined, however no matter how defined your abs are, they have no chance to show through if you do not get rid of that layer of fats on top. As such, you should develop a six pack abs diet, and by that it does not means that you stop eating altogether because then it will no doubt affect your metabolism rate and make those fats even more difficult to go. What you should be doing is to find a balance and healthy diet that can accommodate your workout schedule.

You should target to cut down on your food intake by at least 15-20% to hasten the process without sending your body in starvation mode.

Working out properly

Abs will be much easier if we can just slack through our workout and pump out the numbers fast, however that is not the case because quality of your workout counts. With each exercise performed, it is expected to target certain body parts and as such you do not want to compromise your quality for a higher frequency.

What you want to do is to make sure that you are following each and every exercise correctly, in terms of where it targets, how to perform it, and where it contracts the muscles. Form in your exercise is important, more so than the amount you do!

Having an achievable goal

When setting your goals, make sure it is one that is realistic, measurable and achievable. If you set yourself to achieve abs in two weeks time, you might be setting yourself up for a huge disappointment, thus you’ll most likely feel de-motivated to continue your goals.

Make sure you give yourself the time you need to achieve the goals you’ve set before you call it quits, and also by measurable you want to have them in numbers so that you can track your progress and determine if you are moving in the right direction or not.
